The Arauco Campus was born out of a unique link between the common goals of industry and academia. The Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile (Duoc UC) and Empresas Arauco were introduced as an opportunity through GDN.  Duoc UC on one hand is a significant university system, emphasizing highly sought out and necessary technical education applying to a large demographic in Chile, while Empresas Arauco is a global leader and innovator in the forestry industry, pressing sustainability of the environment and the critical nature of the forestry value chain.

This partnership created the opportunity for a more progressive campus, blending academic and industry education into one stage.  The design showcases wood in its many areas of beauty and function, using it as the base of structure and material.  Dynamic volumes and expressive detail become the background in housing this new learning environment and model of collaboration for its community.
